Feeling-first travel guide
Coming soon
I used to be a traveller with packed schedule whenever I was traveling because of the FOMO. This idea became a huge drive for me to organize every single detail before the trip.
However, recently, I changed my mind. Traveling is not about the number of site you visited in that city. It is all about feel the local culture. I think the FOMO is coming from a form of anxiety about the future, because you do not know what is going happen in the future.
People used to say, if you are depressed, you are living in the past. If you are anxious, you are living the future. I think this is where the FOMO is coming from in my case. I was always anxious about the future - what if something happens, and what should I do?
It is a disability to feel the present and surroundings.
I went to Paris in May. I didn’t go to so many sites since it was only 3 and half days. But I did feel Paris. I spent at least 4 hours just sitting on the chair with cigarette and coffee on the table - watching people. That is the moment I felt Paris. How people walk, how people talk and how people interact. You will feel the nauce if you pay enough attention. It is a feeling that you couldn’t describe only feel.
People like to brag about the number of places they went as collecting the money in their pocket. But, the point is not about the number of the money, but how you use the money.
